Duties Prepare and process meat products using various butchery techniques, including trimming, slicing, and meat cutting to meet customer specifications Operate meat processing machines safely and efficiently to ensure consistent product quality Package meats accurately, labeling products clearly for retail display or customer orders Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment Conduct visual inspections for quality control, ensuring all products meet safety and freshness standards Assist customers with their selections by providing knowledgeable advice on meat cuts and preparation methods Manage perishable goods carefully, monitoring expiration dates and proper storage practices to minimize waste Requirements Proven experience in food production, food preparation or retail store environments, preferably within the food industry or culinary settings Skilled in meat processing machine operation, knife skills, meat cutting, slicing techniques, and trimming methods Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures to ensure compliance with health regulations Ability to perform basic math for portioning and weighing meats accurately Experience with food handling in kitchens or restaurants is highly desirable Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with shoppers and team members Familiarity with fish handling and culinary experience is a plus but not mandatory Basic understanding of visual inspection for quality control and perishable goods management Join us as a Meat Associate and become part of a passionate team dedicated to delivering exceptional quality products while fostering a safe, clean, and friendly shopping environment.
