POSITION SUMMARY
The Table Game Pit Clerk puts Washington State Gambling Commission regulation, NGG internal control policy, and safety rules into practice within the pit. The position is the pit's record keeper: player activity, ratings, and gaming documentation pass through it, and the accuracy of what it enters is what the property later relies on.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Player Tracking and Data Entry ▪ Enter player activity data accurately into the player tracking system, cash in, average bet, activity start and end times, and the like, in the system the property has adopted. ▪ Confirm entries against the source documentation before the shift closes and correct discrepancies at once. ▪ Open, update, and close player ratings in step with actual play. ▪ Keep pit paperwork organized, complete, and filed as required. ▪ Protect the confidentiality of player information at all times. Pit Support ▪ See that fills and credits are handled in keeping with regulation and policy. ▪ Alongside the shift manager and the floor supervisor, help build dealer schedules and verify that every game is supplied with the right equipment in sufficient quantity. ▪ Answer the pit telephone and route information promptly and courteously. ▪ Alert the floor supervisor to entry errors, missing documents, or activity that looks irregular. ▪ Assist with Pull Tab sales. Guest Experience and Workplace Standards ▪ Cultivate strong guest relations, helping answer questions and settle disputes. ▪ Set a professional tone at the pit that guests and staff both feel. ▪ Build a climate in which staff feel free to offer ideas, raise concerns, and work through conflict. ▪ Hold and keep current a Washington State Gambling Commission card room employee license and any other credential the position requires. ▪ Finish all assigned training, including compliance, safety, and refresher training. ▪ Use of a personal mobile device anywhere on the gaming floor is not permitted while on the clock; undivided attention to the job is expected throughout the shift. ▪ Carry out additional assignments as directed by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Experience, and Training ▪ Completion of high school, a GED, or comparable practical experience. ▪ Background in casino gaming and operations, held with the appropriate licensure, is preferred. ▪ Applicant must have reached the age of eighteen (18). ▪ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Specific Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required ▪ Knowledge of Washington State gambling regulations and rules. ▪ Cultivates an enjoyable atmosphere for every guest. ▪ Builds a climate in which staff feel free to offer ideas, raise concerns, and work through conflict. ▪ Fosters respect, dignity, and integrity among staff by modeling those qualities personally. ▪ Keeps the team intact by investing in training and development, and explains the reasoning behind a practice before asking the team to carry it out. ▪ Able to read and understand all documentation. ▪ Communicates clearly and consistently with guests and with team members at every level of the organization. ▪ Works well alongside colleagues and engages comfortably with members of the public. ▪ Presents a tidy, professional image and maintains sound personal grooming standards. ▪ Proficient in spoken and written English, including reading comprehension. ▪ Competent in the four basic mathematical operations across all units of measure, whether working in whole numbers, fractions, or decimals. ▪ Enters data quickly and accurately while the pit is busy around the workstation. ▪ Comfortable with player tracking and table accounting systems. ▪ Discretion in handling confidential player and financial information. ▪ Comfortable performing all work under continuous surveillance coverage.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The role is performed in a high-tempo casino setting. Extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting are required, as are speaking, hearing, writing, and fine finger and tactile manipulation. Lifting and carrying of up to thirty pounds (30 lbs.) is required, and heavier loads on occasion. Reaching with the hands and arms, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling occur regularly, and the incumbent may be exposed to swings in temperature at either extreme. The role is worked at a pit workstation, standing or seated, with close visual acuity required for screens and gaming documents and repetitive hand motion in data entry. Work is performed under continuous surveillance coverage and at elevated noise levels. Schedules include nights, weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts based on business needs.
