Light on the Sugar Waterford Lakes429 N. Alafaya Trail, Orlando, FL 32828$16 $18 per hour | Full-time or Part-timeLight on the Sugar is a growing, family-owned Orlando bakery known for French-inspired pastries, seasonal flavors, and beautifully finished desserts.
We re looking for a reliable and motivated Pastry Cook/Pastry Chef Assistant to join our back-of-house production team. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys making desserts from scratch, working with a team, and taking pride in both flavor and presentation.
What You ll DoPrepare pastry creams, doughs, cheesecake batters, fillings, sauces, and other recipes from scratchAssist with large-batch bakery productionAssemble, decorate, and finish pastriesUse piping bags, icings, glazes, toppings, and garnishesAccurately weigh ingredients and follow standardized recipesHelp pastry chefs complete daily productionMaintain a clean and organized workstationWash dishes and assist with general kitchen cleaningFollow food-safety and sanitation proceduresMake sure every product meets our quality and presentation standardsWhat We re Looking ForAt least one year of bakery, restaurant, culinary, or food-production experience preferredStrong interest in pastry and dessert productionDependable, punctual, and able to work efficientlyGood attention to detail and presentationAble to read and follow recipes accuratelyComfortable working on your feet for 8 10 hoursAble to lift up to 50 poundsMust be at least 18 years oldAvailable for morning and daytime shiftsWeekend and holiday availability requiredServSafe certification is preferredWhat We Offer$16 $18 per hour, based on experienceFull-time and part-time opportunitiesEmployee discountFlexible schedulingHands-on pastry trainingOpportunity to learn new techniques and grow with an expanding local bakeryCreative, fast-paced, team-oriented kitchenThis is a true back-of-house production position that includes baking, decorating, cleaning, dishwashing, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
