Job Description
Overview We are seeking a talented, experienced, and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Japanese cuisine and a commitment to delivering high-quality dishes that meet our restaurant's standards. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing sushi and other Japanese dishes, ensuring food safety, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Duties Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and artistry, adhering to traditional techniques and recipes. Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. Ensure all food preparation meets safety and hygiene standards, including proper food handling practices. Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is sanitized and organized. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels of ingredients and supplies. Provide exceptional service by engaging with guests when necessary, sharing knowledge about menu items, and accommodating dietary restrictions. Continuously develop culinary skills through training and experimentation with new recipes. Experience 5+ years of proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the food industry. Strong culinary experience with a focus on Japanese cuisine, including fine dining experience preferred. Demonstrated expertise in seafood preparation techniques, knife skills, and Fish preparation. Familiarity with menu planning, catering, and serving practices is highly desirable. Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus. Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling is essential.
