Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sous Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this pivotal role, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Your leadership will inspire our culinary staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences, whether in fine dining settings, catering events, or banquet services. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise, manage food production processes, and contribute to a lively hospitality environment that values innovation and teamwork. Responsibilities Support the Executive Chef in managing all kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation for various service types such as Pub-style dining, catering, and banquets Supervise kitchen staff by providing guidance on food handling, safety procedures, and culinary techniques to ensure consistent quality Assist with menu planning and recipe development to maintain creative and appealing offerings that meet guest expectations Oversee inventory management and control to minimize waste while ensuring the availability of necessary ingredients and supplies Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards across all kitchen operations Lead shift management by coordinating staff schedules, delegating tasks efficiently, and maintaining a smooth workflow during busy periods Collaborate with the dietary department to accommodate special dietary needs and restrictions while maintaining high standards of food quality Manage food production processes for large-scale events such as banquets or catering functions with precision and efficiency Support training initiatives for team members to enhance skills in food preparation, presentation, and service excellence Requirements Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment, preferably with banquet or fine dining experience Strong background in food production, culinary techniques, and kitchen management practices Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse culinary team Knowledge of inventory control systems and food safety regulations (such as HACCP standards) Experience in menu planning, catering operations, and restaurant management is highly desirable Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and other departments Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed Join us if you're passionate about elevating culinary experiences through innovative leadership! From $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
