Sushi Chef (Roll Station) — Part-Time, Full Days (Great Neck, Kosher) Tiger Sushi, a kosher (pareve) Japanese restaurant in Great Neck, is hiring an experienced sushi chef to run our roll station, part-time on full-day shifts. Fewer days, but full shifts when you're on — worth the commute, not a sliced-up schedule.

Days & Hours:

Thu, Sun:

11:30 AM - close (close is around 9:30-10 PM)

Saturday:

late evening only (currently 10 PM-12 AM, varies by season). Minimum 4 hours' pay guaranteed, even if the shift runs short.

Pay:

$28/hour. Paid weekly by check. Legal, on-the-books (W-2) employment — not cash, not under the table. What you'll do: Run the roll station (rolls & nigiri), with prep work as well. Requirements (must-haves — no exceptions): Your own transportation (car or e-bike). Great Neck has no subway and Saturday closes late, so reliable transport is required. 2+ years experience in a sushi restaurant. Supermarket/grocery sushi counter experience does not count. Available to work Saturday evenings. This is the core of the role. We value reliability and following the house method just as much as skill — we'll show you our order sequence, portions, and ingredients, and we need someone who follows it.

Please note:

We are kosher pareve — no meat, dairy, shellfish, or eel. Our fish and ingredients differ from a typical sushi bar.
