Duties Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi dishes with precision, artistry, and consistency, adhering to established recipes and presentation standards. Lead and supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance on food preparation, safety protocols, and efficient workflow management. Oversee inventory control for seafood, rice, nori, and other ingredients to ensure freshness and minimize waste. Maintain strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures and hygiene standards across all kitchen areas. Manage shift operations efficiently, including coordinating team schedules, monitoring food production timelines, and ensuring timely service. Collaborate with the culinary team on menu planning to introduce new sushi options that align with customer preferences and current trends. Ensure compliance with dietary department requirements by accommodating special dietary needs and allergies while maintaining high-quality standards. Uphold excellent food handling practices during food production, serving, and storage to guarantee safety and quality. Participate in catering events or banquet services as needed, delivering exceptional sushi experiences for large groups or special occasions. Support restaurant management in controlling costs through effective portioning, inventory management, and waste reduction strategies. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sushi Chef with strong skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation. Demonstrated supervisory or team management experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting. Extensive knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and proper handling of seafood products. Background in fine dining or high-end restaurant environments preferred. Experience with inventory management, cost control, and kitchen operations management. Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively during busy shifts. Familiarity with catering services, banquet setups, and large-scale food production is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills combined with a passion for hospitality excellence.
