Timber & Thyme - North Creek, NY About the Role We're looking for an experienced, motivated Chef to join our leadership team. This is a hands-on position for someone who leads by example, communicates clearly, and takes pride in building a positive, high-performing kitchen. Responsibilities Lead daily kitchen operations while working alongside the team during service. Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff through clear communication and consistent leadership. Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining accountability and quality standards. Foster a positive, professional kitchen culture built on teamwork, respect, and continuous improvement. Prepare and execute high-quality food with consistency, creativity, and attention to detail. Maintain recipe standards, food presentation, and portion consistency. Assist with menu development, seasonal features, and recipe testing. Manage inventory, ordering, and product rotation to minimize waste and control food costs. Maintain the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen cleanliness. Coordinate prep production and ensure the kitchen is set up for successful service. Monitor labor and scheduling to support efficient operations. Work closely with ownership and management to improve systems, service, and overall guest experience. Qualifications Minimum 3-5 years of professional kitchen experience in a leadership role. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Positive attitude with a healthy work ethic and a team-first mindset. Proven ability to lead, teach, coach, and motivate others. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation standards. Experience with inventory management, ordering, and food cost control. Ability to remain calm, organized, and solutions-focused during busy services. Creative mindset with a passion for quality ingredients and hospitality.
