Interim Co-Chef Field & Vine Restaurant Finger Lakes, NY Temporary position: 10 weeks (possibility of permanent position next season)

Pay:

$23 per hour Field & Vine Restaurant is seeking an experienced, motivated Executive Chef or Sous Chef to join our kitchen team for a temporary 10-week position in the Finger Lakes region. The ideal candidate is a skilled culinary professional who can lead by example, maintain high food-quality standards, and help ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation. Responsibilities

• Prepare and execute high-quality dishes according to restaurant standards
• Lead and support kitchen staff during daily service
• Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
• Assist with menu execution, prep planning, and daily kitchen operations
• Ensure proper food handling, sanitation, and kitchen safety procedures
• Monitor inventory and minimize food waste
• Help coordinate kitchen workflow during busy service periods
• Train, guide, and motivate culinary team members
• Communicate effectively with restaurant management and front-of-house staff
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional kitchen environment Qualifications
• Previous experience as an Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Chef de Cuisine, or in a similar skilled kitchen leadership role
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations
• Ability to lead a team and remain organized in a fast-paced environment
• Dependable, professional, and able to work collaboratively
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Food-handler certification preferred
• Culinary training or equivalent professional experience preferred Position Details
