A private household in the East Tennessee area is seeking a full-time Private Chef to prepare two meals each day, Monday through Friday . This is a split shift scheduled around breakfast and dinner with an occasional lunch. Most weekends and major holidays are off, with schedule flexibility required for special occasions and entertaining. Some out of state travel is required. The chef will use clean, whole ingredients to prepare meals that meet each family member's needs. All cooking is gluten-free and dairy-free , and egg free without chemical enhancements or added sugars, with a strong command of Southeastern U.S. food and creativity beyond processed substitutes. Knowledge of juicing is expected. The household has one dog; the chef will also prepare the dog's food and must be comfortable with dogs. No personal pets are allowed in the provided apartment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and prepare three well-thought-out meals each weekday that meet each family member's dietary needs and tastes. Plan menus one week in advance. Shop for and acquire all food and kitchen supplies in a timely manner and within a set budget. Keep all kitchen cupboards, pantries, tools, equipment, and utensils clean, organized, and in good working order, including the grill, fryer, gas stove, and oven. Seasonal gardening of fruits and vegetables used in meal preparation. Prepare juices, smoothies, and tea as requested and maintain juicing equipment. Prepare meals for the household's dog as directed. Work cleanly and stay organized so meals are ready on time and waste is kept to a minimum.

Manners, hygiene, and punctuality are essential in this home. The household wants someone of the utmost character and trustworthiness who is also caring, organized, and able to work independently. Excellent manners and a respectful, professional presence in a private home. Impeccable personal hygiene and professional attire as directed by the household. Cleanliness in the kitchen is non-negotiable. Punctual, with excellent time management — on time every day, with meals and shopping kept on schedule. ServSafe certified . 3-5 years of personal or private-chef experience required. Culinary degree preferred. Creative gluten-free, dairy-free, and egg-free cooking from fresh ingredients, plus strong knowledge of Southeastern U.S. cuisine. Solid knowledge of nutrition and diet . Able to create innovative meals with minimal waste. Caring and compassionate with the family. Comfortable with dogs; must love dogs. Able to lift 50 lbs. with ease. Reliable transportation. Dependable, adaptable, organized, and creative in the kitchen. Willing to sign a confidentiality agreement and complete an extensive vetting process, including a federal background check.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Pay is based on a 40-hour work week and depends on skills, knowledge, and background. An apartment is provided upon moving to the area (no personal pets). Health insurance is 90% paid by the employer. Vision and dental options are available at the employee's expense. Paid vacation after satisfactory completion of six months.
