Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and talented Jamaican Chef to bring authentic Caribbean flavors to our vibrant culinary team. Responsibilities Prepare and cook authentic Jamaican dishes, including jerk chicken, curried goat, ackee and saltfish, and other traditional specialties. Develop and execute menu items that highlight Caribbean flavors while maintaining consistency and quality standards. Manage food production processes, ensuring timely delivery of meals during high-volume service periods. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including grills, braising pots, poaching stations, and food prep tools. Follow strict food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment. Assist in meal planning and recipe adherence to uphold the authenticity of dishes served. Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and excellent food handling practices. Requirements Proven experience as a Jamaican, Island Chef or in a similar culinary role specializing in Caribbean cuisine. Strong knowledge of food safety management, sanitizing procedures, and kitchen safety protocols. Extensive culinary experience with skills in grilling, braising, poaching, and other cooking techniques relevant to Jamaican dishes. Ability to operate various kitchen equipment efficiently and safely under pressure. Experience with menu planning, food preparation, and high-volume production environments. Excellent knife skills and familiarity with food handling standards required for restaurant or catering settings. Background in food industry roles such as dietary aide experience or dietary department experience is a plus.
