Madison House Assisted Living, Cortez, CO (In Person) Job Overview Madison House Assisted Living is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and enthusiastic Cook to join our team. If you enjoy preparing delicious home-style meals and making a positive impact in the lives of seniors, we'd love to hear from you. As our Cook, you will prepare nutritious, appetizing meals according to our planned menus while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. This is not a fast-paced restaurant kitchen—you'll have the opportunity to create quality meals for up to 30 residents in a warm, family-like setting where your cooking truly makes a difference. Responsibilities Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks according to the approved menu. Ensure meals are prepared safely, attractively, and served on time. Follow standardized recipes and accommodate special dietary needs as directed. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, dining, and food storage areas. Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies and grocery shopping. Properly store food and rotate inventory using food safety guidelines. Wash dishes, cookware, and kitchen equipment. Comply with Colorado health department regulations and food safety standards. Engage with residents in a friendly and respectful manner, creating a welcoming dining experience. Work collaboratively with the caregiving team to ensure excellent resident service. Qualifications Previous cooking or restaurant experience preferred. Passion for preparing quality home-style meals. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks. Strong organizational and time management skills. Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices. Reliable transportation and dependable attendance. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods. Must pass a background check.
