• Prepare, cook, and present hot and cold buffet items according to standardized recipes and hotel quality standards.
• Set up buffet stations before service and ensure they are fully stocked and attractively displayed.
• Monitor buffet items throughout service, replenishing food promptly to maintain freshness, quality, and appearance.
• Cook food to proper temperatures and follow all food safety and sanitation regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, buffet line, and workstations.
• Label, date, and properly store food according to food safety guidelines.
• Assist with food preparation, portioning, and garnishing for buffet service.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate supply needs to supervisors.
• Minimize food waste through proper production planning and portion control.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance issues as needed.
• Collaborate with the Kitchen Supervisor and fellow cooks to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Respond professionally to guest requests, including accommodating dietary restrictions when possible.
• Follow hotel policies, health codes, and workplace safety procedures.
• Deliver courteous, professional, and memorable service to guests while supporting a positive team environment. Educational/Experience Requirements
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience.
• Must obtain Food Handler's Certification.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.

Language Skills Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. English is required for oral and written communications (bilingual, Spanish speaking a plus). Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an Associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme heat. The Associate is occasionally exposed to extreme cold. The hotel functions 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. All associates must realize this fact and be aware that at times it may be necessary to adjust schedules based on business needs.
