The ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in food quality and presentation, and communicates effectively with the rest of the staff. Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and restaurant standards.
• Set up and stock the assigned station before each shift.
• Prepare ingredients, including chopping, portioning, seasoning and basic food preparation.
• Complete orders accurately and efficiently during busy service periods.
• Maintain consistent food quality, portion size and presentation.
• Communicate with chefs, cooks, servers and other team members.
• Follow proper food-safety, sanitation and temperature-control procedures.
• Label, date, rotate and properly store food using FIFO procedures.
• Keep the station, equipment and surrounding work areas clean and organized.
• Assist with inventory, receiving deliveries and restocking supplies.
• Complete opening, closing and cleaning duties as assigned.
• Report equipment problems, shortages and food-quality concerns promptly.
• Perform other kitchen duties as needed. Qualifications
• Previous line-cook or professional kitchen experience preferred.
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to follow recipes, instructions and portion standards.
• Ability to remain organized and focused during high-volume service.
• Dependable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
• Food-handler certification preferred or willingness to obtain one. Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around heat, steam, sharp utensils and commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to bend, reach and move safely in a busy kitchen.

Schedule:

Full-time or part-time; evenings, weekends and holidays may be required.
