Key Responsibilities Prepare, cook, portion, and plate meals according to menus, recipes, dietary requirements, and facility standards. Complete daily food preparation, including cutting, chopping, measuring, portioning, and ingredient preparation. Follow proper food-handling, cooking, cooling, reheating, and temperature-control procedures. Maintain proper food storage, labeling, dating, and FIFO (First In, First Out) rotation. Prevent cross-contamination and properly handle food allergens and special dietary requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen, including food-contact surfaces, equipment, storage areas, and floors. Follow Georgia Department of Public Health food-service regulations and all company food-safety policies. Monitor and document food temperatures as required. Report spoiled food, equipment issues, sanitation concerns, inventory shortages, and other food-safety concerns promptly. Properly clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, workstations, and food-preparation areas. Work collaboratively with kitchen, dining, caregiving, and management teams. Treat residents, guests, and coworkers with professionalism, respect, patience, and dignity. Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient kitchen throughout the entire shift. Ability to follow recipes, dietary instructions, safety procedures, and company standards. Food-safety certification such as ServSafe is preferred or may be required based on position/facility requirements.
