Job Description

Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing delicious, high-quality meals that meet safety standards and satisfy our school lunch expectations. Your enthusiasm for food preparation, attention to detail, and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment will contribute to a caring and supportive team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills while supporting the overall success of our food service operations. Responsibilities Prepare and cook a variety of menu items according to recipes, dietary guidelines, and quality standards Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools Follow food safety management procedures to ensure proper handling, storage, and sanitation of ingredients and prepared foods Assist in menu planning and meal preparation for daily service Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas by adhering to cleaning schedules and safety standards in production Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service Support dietary department needs by understanding dietary restrictions and assisting with meal modifications when necessary Experience Strong knowledge of food handling safety standards and best practices in food safety management Skilled in culinary techniques including knife skills, slicing techniques, and recipe adherence Experience with food preparation for large groups Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen team members Prior experience working in dietary departments or healthcare food services is a plus Join us if you're eager to bring your love of cooking to an environment where quality, safety, and teamwork are at the forefront. Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 per week
