Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and energetic Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items, assisting with menu planning, and ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. Duties Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and portioning food items using proper knife skills and slicing techniques Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, mixers, and food processors Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to meet food safety standards Follow food handling procedures to ensure proper storage, sanitation, and safety at all times Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients in advance for upcoming service periods Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and smooth kitchen operations Adhere strictly to safety standards in production, including proper use of PPE (personal protective equipment) and safe food handling practices Assist with catering events or special meal preparations as needed Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and maintain a positive work environment Qualifications Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential Food service or restaurant experience demonstrating familiarity with kitchen operations and food preparation techniques Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for various ingredients Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining consistency in meal presentation Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and effectively Excellent communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and ensure seamless service delivery Basic understanding of menu planning, food handling, and catering processes is advantageous Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items safely, and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting Join us as a Line Cook/Prep Cook where your culinary talents will shine!
