This is a great position for someone who enjoys working independently in the kitchen while still being an important part of a fun, busy preschool community.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare and cook daily lunches and snacks for our preschool children Complete daily food preparation and portioning according to classroom needs and age groups Carefully manage food allergies, dietary restrictions, and approved substitutions Maintain accurate allergy information and prevent cross-contact Manage kitchen and food inventory Prepare grocery and supply lists and order items that need to be purchased Receive, organize, rotate, and properly store food and kitchen supplies Monitor expiration dates and maintain proper food rotation Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen Follow proper food storage, preparation, temperature, sanitation, and handwashing procedures Maintain all required kitchen logs and documentation Follow DCFS, local health department, food safety, and Goddard School health and safety standards Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, counters, carts, dishes, and food-preparation areas Help ensure meals and snacks are prepared and delivered to classrooms on schedule Communicate with Directors and teachers regarding allergies, substitutions, meal changes, and kitchen needs Take pride in keeping the kitchen welcoming, organized, stocked, and ready for each day We're Looking for Someone Who... Loves being part of a preschool and child-centered environment Enjoys cooking and preparing food for children Is dependable, punctual, and able to work independently Is highly organized and able to manage several meal-preparation responsibilities at once Pays close attention to allergies and dietary restrictions Understands that food safety and cleanliness are extremely important Has a positive attitude and enjoys being part of a team Is willing to jump in and help wherever needed Takes ownership of the kitchen and keeps it running efficiently

Part-Time Approx. 8:30-12:30pm

The Goddard School of Mokena, Illinois Requirements Candidates must be able to complete all required childcare and food-service requirements for the position, including: Required DCFS background screening/background check Required Food Handler Certification Any additional health, safety, food-service, or childcare training required for the position Ability to safely lift, carry, bend, stand, and move throughout the kitchen during the workday Ability to follow written menus, recipes, allergy instructions, and food safety procedures Why Join Our Team? Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 17.0 - 23.0 per week
