This restaurant kitchen position is responsible for preparing fried seafood, fried sandwiches, baskets, plates, sides and other menu items according to Lobster Claw recipes and quality standards. This role is best suited for someone with fry cook, line cook, seafood cook, or fast paced kitchen experience who can maintain timing, accuracy, cleanliness and consistency during busy service periods. About Lobster Claw The Lobster Claw has been a North Reading staple since 1976. We are a family owned seafood restaurant with loyal customers who have been coming back for decades. We are not a chain. We are a local institution built on quality ingredients, consistent food and genuine hospitality. In 2025, we completed a full renovation, updating our layout, kitchen flow, dining room and adding a beer and wine counter. We are growing our team and looking for people who take their work seriously and want to be part of something that has meant something to this community for nearly 50 years. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook fried seafood, fried sandwiches, baskets, plates, sides and appetizers Operate fryers and standard kitchen equipment safely and properly Monitor cook times, food temperature, oil quality, portion consistency and overall food quality Follow recipes, prep lists, portion standards, plating guidelines and ticket timing Set up, stock, clean and break down the fry station Maintain consistency and quality during busy service periods Communicate with seafood breaders, grill cooks, sandwich/salad staff, expo and kitchen team members Follow food safety, sanitation, labeling, storage and rotation procedures Assist with prep, restocking, cleaning, opening, closing and general kitchen duties as needed Qualifications 6+ months of fry cook, line cook, seafood cook, restaurant cook or related kitchen experience required Seafood restaurant or fast paced restaurant experience strongly preferred Ability to safely operate fryers and kitchen equipment Ability to follow recipes, cook times, portion standards and kitchen procedures Reliable transportation required U.S. work authorization required Must be at least 18 years old Strong attention to timing, cleanliness, consistency and food quality Ability to work day, night and weekend shifts as needed Strong teamwork and communication skills Compensation and Benefits $18-$24 per hour Flexible scheduling Paid training Free or discounted meals Health insurance Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to bend, reach, lift, cook, stock and use kitchen tools Ability to work around fryers, hot equipment, seafood, cold storage and standard kitchen conditions Ability to work in a fast paced restaurant kitchen Equal Opportunity Employer Lobster Claw Seafood Restaurant is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
