We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Cook to join our team at our small Assisted Living Facility. The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious, appealing meals in accordance with residents' dietary needs and preferences, while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized kitchen. Essential Duties & Responsibilities This list of essential functions is not intended to be limiting. Prepare and serve meals according to the facility's menu and dietary guidelines. Ensure all meals are served on time and at appropriate temperatures. Accommodate special diets and food allergies or restrictions (e.g., low sodium, pureed, etc.). Maintain food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with state regulations. Keep kitchen and dining areas clean and organized. Assist with inventory and ordering food and kitchen supplies. Maintain proper storage of food and rotate stock to minimize waste. Interact positively with residents and staff; provide a welcoming dining experience. Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules and maintain logs as required. Participate in staff meetings and required training sessions. Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Required Skills/Abilities & Qualifications Excellent verbal and written communication. ServSafe Manager certification Compassionate and patient demeanor. Must be dependable, organized, and able to work independently. Physical Requirements Able to stand and walk up to eight (8) hours at a time. Repetitive bending and reaching. Able to lift 50 pounds from floor to waist.
