As a Cook at Calo Programs, you'll play a vital role in creating a warm, welcoming environment where quality meals and meaningful connections go hand in hand. You'll support our culinary team in preparing fresh, nutritious food that not only nourishes our students and staff but also brings a sense of comfort and care to each day. Each shift, you'll assist our Chef with meal prep, keep the kitchen clean and organized, and help ensure smooth, nourishing mealtimes. Your work will support the physical and emotional well-being of our students—helping make Calo feel like home. By embodying our core values of Commitment, Acceptance, Security, and Attunement, you'll help create a safe, therapeutic environment where healing begins with a warm meal and a familiar face. Responsibilities Prepare and portion meals alongside the Chef to support both students and staff Follow menu plans and dietary guidelines provided by our Dietitian to ensure consistency and nutrition. Assist with prepping ingredients and meals in advance for weekends, keeping things smooth and stress-free for the team. Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment—because great meals start with a great space. Bring warmth and positivity to the dining experience, helping students feel at home with every meal. Qualifications Must be at least 21 years of age. High school diploma or GED required. Strong knowledge of nutrition, health, and safety standards. Experience ordering from food service vendors. Experience preparing food for large groups. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
Preferred Qualification:
Valid Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe Certification, preferred. Minimum 2 years of cooking experience, preferred. Benefits Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
