Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as a Prep Cook and become a vital part of delivering exceptional dining experiences! In this energetic role, you will prepare ingredients, assist with food assembly, and support the kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient meal production. Your culinary skills and attention to safety standards will help create delicious dishes that delight our guests. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your food industry expertise while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, slicing, and measuring according to recipes and menu specifications Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and assembling dishes Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, mixers, ovens, and food processors Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen tools to uphold food safety standards Support the cooking team by following recipe adherence and meal preparation procedures Ensure proper food handling practices are followed to prevent contamination and ensure safety compliance Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate prep activities and meet service deadlines Experience Previous dietary department or dietary aide experience preferred but not required; willingness to learn is valued Food service or restaurant experience demonstrating familiarity with kitchen operations and food safety standards Knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and food industry best practices Skills in knife handling, slicing techniques, and general food preparation methods Understanding of safety standards in production environments and proper use of kitchen equipment Experience in catering or serving roles is a plus for understanding customer service expectations Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and support team efforts
Pay:
From $16.00 per hour Expected hours: 15.0 - 20.0 per week
