Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dietary Cook to join our team at Lake James Lodge Assisted Living. The ideal candidate will have experience in food production and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service within a dietary department. As a Dietary Cook, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all meals are prepared in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards, while maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook nutritious meals according to approved menus.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared, cooked, and served in compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, including equipment, utensils, and work areas.
  • Monitor food stock levels and assist in inventory management to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to resident requests and dietary preferences.
  • Assist in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols. Skills
  • Proficient in kitchen operations with experience in food production within a nursing home or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of food safety practices and sanitation standards.
  • Excellent time management skills to efficiently prepare meals within scheduled timeframes.
  • Ability to maintain a clean work environment while multitasking during busy meal services.
  • Effective communication skills to interact positively with residents and team members.
  • Previous experience as a dietary aide is preferred but not required.
