In this vital role, you will assist in food preparation, ensure cleanliness and safety standards are maintained, and support the kitchen staff in delivering high-quality meals. Your enthusiasm and commitment will contribute to creating a welcoming environment where delicious, nutritious food is served efficiently and safely. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop culinary skills while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting. Duties Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques Support the cooking process by following recipes accurately and adhering to food safety standards in production Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and food processors Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen appliances in compliance with sanitation regulations Help with meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy hours Follow menu plans and dietary guidelines to support menu planning efforts and dietary department requirements Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food handling, preparation, and service activities Qualifications Previous experience in a dietary department or food service environment is highly preferred Knowledge of food handling safety standards and food safety management practices Experience with food preparation, cooking, and operating kitchen equipment Strong knife skills, slicing techniques, and familiarity with recipe adherence Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with kitchen staff Prior catering or restaurant experience is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential Join us as a Cook Helper and be part of a vibrant team dedicated to preparing nutritious meals while ensuring safety, cleanliness, and quality at every step.
