Job Description

Join Our Team and Make a Difference Every Day! We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and experienced Cook to join our dietary team in a skilled nursing facility. The ideal candidate will be passionate about preparing nutritious, high-quality meals that enhance the health and well-being of our residents. Position Summary The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals in accordance with planned menus, dietary requirements, food safety regulations, and sanitation standards. This position plays a vital role in ensuring resident satisfaction through excellent food quality and service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to established menus and recipes. Ensure meals are prepared in compliance with therapeutic and special diets. Maintain food quality, portion control, and presentation standards. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures. Properly store, label, and rotate food products. Assist with inventory management and food ordering as needed. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Work collaboratively with dietary staff and other departments. Ensure timely meal service for residents. Qualifications Previous cooking experience required; healthcare, long-term care, or skilled nursing experience preferred. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Ability to prepare meals for large groups while maintaining quality and consistency. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds. Current ServSafe Certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
Pay:
$18.00 - $19.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
