Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Banquet Cook to join our culinary team. This position is responsible for the preparation and production of high-quality food for banquet functions, including weddings, conferences, and other special events. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of large-scale food production, excellent time management, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook high-volume meals for banquet and catering events according to standardized recipes and guest specifications. Ensure all food is prepared, cooked, and presented in a timely and appealing manner. Collaborate with the Banquet Chef and kitchen team to plan menus, prep lists, and timelines for each event. Maintain proper food handling, sanitation, and safety standards in compliance with local health department regulations. Set up and break down cooking stations and equipment before and after events. Assist with inventory control, including rotation, labeling, and storage of food items. Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment and workstations. Work efficiently to meet event timelines and adjust quickly to changing needs. Monitor food quality during production and service, ensuring consistency and presentation standards are met. Follow all company policies and procedures related to safety, sanitation, and conduct.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; culinary degree or certification preferred. 2+ years of professional cooking experience, preferably in banquets or high-volume food production. Knowledge of various cooking techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen equipment. Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment. Flexibility to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with diverse cuisines and dietary restrictions (e.g., gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan). ServSafe or Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain). Ability to lead or assist in training junior kitchen staff as needed.

From $30,420.00 per year
