Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Cashier/Cook to join our vibrant food service team! In this dual role, you will be the friendly face greeting customers at the register and the skilled hand preparing delicious meals. Your enthusiasm for food, excellent customer service skills, and ability to manage multiple responsibilities will help create a welcoming atmosphere and ensure smooth operations. All roles are paid positions, emphasizing the value we place on every team member's contribution. Duties Greet customers warmly, take their orders accurately, and process payments efficiently using Aloha POS or Micros POS systems. Prepare food items according to established recipes and safety standards, ensuring quality and presentation meet company expectations. Handle cash transactions with precision, including cash handling, making change, and balancing registers at shift end. Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including food prep stations, dining spaces, and cashier counters, adhering to food safety regulations. Assist with food industry tasks such as bussing tables, food handling, and supporting kitchen staff during busy periods. Upsell menu items to enhance sales and improve customer experience through friendly recommendations. Manage time effectively to ensure quick service delivery while maintaining high standards of food quality and customer satisfaction. Experience Previous experience in food preparation or a quick service/fast-food restaurant environment is preferred but not required; training will be provided. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha or Micros is advantageous. Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and ability to engage with diverse clientele. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math understanding, and accurate order processing. Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures. Experience working in a café or retail grocery setting is a plus but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is essential.
