Job Summary:

La Boulangerie, a French artisan bakery and café in Forest Hills, Queens is seeking a skilled Cook to join our savory team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation and a passion for culinary arts. The savory team makes soups, sandwiches, salad, quiche and other light fare. Must be able to legally work in the US.

Responsibilities:

• Prep ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling and chopping
• Cook, bake and prepare menu items according to recipes and quality standards
• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly

Skills:

• Proven experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or relevant role
• Knowledge of various cooking methods and procedures with excellent knife skills
• Must work in a clean and organized fashion
• Understanding of food safety practices
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and excellent time management skills
