La Boulangerie, a French artisan bakery and café in Forest Hills, Queens is seeking a skilled Cook to join our savory team. The ideal candidate will have proven experience Line Cook, Prep Cook, or relevant role and a passion for culinary arts. The savory team makes soups, sandwiches, salad, quiche and other light fare. Requirements/Skills Must speak English Minimum 2 years of experience cooking in a restaurant kitchen as Line Cook, Prep Cook, or relevant role Knowledge of various cooking methods and procedures with excellent knife skills Strong attention to food quality, presentation, and cleanliness Understanding of food safety practices Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced environment Reliable, punctual, and a team player Must be able to legally work in the US Responsibilities Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines Collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house staff during service Prep ingredients for cooking, including washing, peeling and chopping Cook, bake and prepare menu items according to recipes and quality standards Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area Ensure all food and other items are stored properly If you have a background in fine dining, restaurant, catering, or the food industry, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
