The Lemon Room | Wilson, NY Full-Time | 30-40 hours per week$20-$22 per hour, based on experience
ABOUT THE LEMON ROOM
The Lemon Room is an ingredient-driven cocktail lounge and small-plate restaurant in Wilson, NY. We're a little polished, a little playful and always focused on making people feel welcome. Our menu is seasonal, thoughtful and designed to pair beautifully with our cocktails. We care about good ingredients, clean execution, warm hospitality and the small details that turn a night out into something memorable.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We're looking for an experienced, dependable and creative Line Cook / BOH Support team member to join our small, close-knit kitchen. Your primary focus will be preparing and cooking food during service. You'll also help with prep, dishwashing, kitchen cleaning and occasional food running. In a small restaurant, every role matters—and we're looking for someone who understands that a beautifully plated dish and a clean kitchen at the end of the night are equally important. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing a focused menu, staying organized during service and taking pride in consistency. You should be excited by seasonal ingredients and creative ideas, while also understanding that great food starts with preparation, communication and reliable execution. There will be opportunities to contribute to seasonal specials and menu development, including testing and refining new dishes. We're looking for someone who wants to be part of the process and help shape what comes next.

  • Complete daily prep and production
  • Set up and maintain a clean, organized and fully stocked station
  • Manage tickets and communicate timing clearly with the bartending team
  • Plate and run food as needed
  • Wash dishes, cookware, utensils and kitchen equipment
  • Complete opening, closing and kitchen-cleaning duties
  • Label, date, rotate and store ingredients properly
  • Monitor ingredient quality, freshness and inventory
  • Communicate prep needs, supply shortages and equipment concerns
  • Help receive and put away deliveries
  • Minimize waste through thoughtful preparation, storage and portioning
  • Follow food-safety, sanitation and allergen procedures
  • Contribute ideas for seasonal dishes, specials and menu development
  • Work collaboratively and step into other responsibilities as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous line-cook, prep-cook or comparable professional kitchen experience strongly preferred
  • Able to take primary responsibility for cooking during assigned shifts
  • Comfortable following recipes, plating standards and kitchen-safety practices
  • Able to manage multiple tickets and priorities during service
  • Creative, organized, clean and attentive to detail
  • Dependable, punctual and comfortable working independently
  • Willing to cook, prep, wash dishes, clean and run food as part of the same position
  • Clear communicator who accepts feedback and works well with a small team
  • Genuinely interested in seasonal food and thoughtful cooking
  • Food-safety certification preferred but not required
  • Able to stand throughout shifts, work safely around hot equipment and lift approximately 40 pounds
  • Able to reliably commute to Wilson, NY
SCHEDULE
This is a full-time position averaging 30-40 hours per week. Required availability includes Mondays, Thursday, Friday and Saturdays Applicants must be available during peak service and able to work through closing and kitchen cleaning. We're a small team, so reliability and consistency matter.
