Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Cook to join our Assisted Living team. The Cook is responsible for preparing nutritious, appetizing meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming kitchen environment. This role is vital to our residents' health, comfort, and overall quality of life. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and standardized recipes Follow physician-ordered and therapeutic diets (e.g., diabetic, low-sodium, texture-modified) Ensure proper portion control, food presentation, and meal quality Maintain kitchen sanitation and cleanliness in compliance with health department regulations Store food properly and monitor inventory, rotation, and expiration dates Assist with meal service as needed Follow all food safety, infection control, and workplace safety guidelines Work collaboratively with dietary staff, nursing, and leadership to meet resident needs Qualifications Prior cooking experience preferred (healthcare, assisted living, or long-term care is a plus) Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special diet requirements Reliable, organized, and able to work independently Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain) Why Join Us?
