Overview The Prep Cook is an essential part of the Mic's Market kitchen. This person keeps our kitchen prepared, stocked, organized, and ready for daily production. This is a hands on, fast paced role for someone who loves food, works efficiently, follows direction well, and takes pride in being organized and productive. You'll work from detailed recipes and production lists to prepare the ingredients and components that keep Mic's running. We cook with whole, high quality ingredients and produce a high volume of food from scratch. Consistency and attention to detail are incredibly important.

• 1+ year receives benefits Responsibilities Complete daily and weekly prep lists accurately and efficiently Wash, chop, dice, mince, shred, and prepare produce and ingredients Prepare grains, vegetables, sauces, dressings, marinades, and recipe components Accurately follow Mic's recipes, measurements, yields, and procedures Properly use the Robot Coupe, Vitamix, ovens, and other kitchen equipment Assist with assembling, portioning, and packaging prepared foods Label, date, rotate, cool, and properly store food Maintain clean and organized prep areas, equipment, walk in, and storage areas Communicate when ingredients or products are running low Follow food safety and sanitation standards Minimize waste through accurate prep and portioning Support the Cook and kitchen team with larger production needs Reset and restock the kitchen so the next shift is prepared Take initiative and find the next thing that needs to be done when your list is complete Prepare full recipes and portion to sell Keep dishes, utensils and equipment cleaned at all tims Who We're Looking For Someone dependable, fast, clean, organized, and comfortable working independently.

You should be able to receive a production list, understand what needs to happen, organize your time, and get to work. You don't need to know every Mic's recipe when you walk through the door. You do need to be willing to learn, follow recipes precisely, take direction, and care about the quality of what you're producing.
