About us Watts Bar & Grill is a locally owned restaurant focused on serving high-quality food and providing friendly service. We are looking for a dependable Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, follows recipes and food-safety standards, and can stay organized during busy service periods. Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards Set up and stock the station before each shift Keep food preparation areas clean, organized, and properly sanitized Maintain proper portion sizes and minimize food waste Follow food-safety, sanitation, and storage procedures Check food quality, temperature, freshness, and presentation Communicate clearly with the kitchen team and front-of-house staff Assist with prep work, dishwashing, cleaning, and restocking as needed Label and store food properly using established procedures Help open and close the kitchen Follow instructions from the Shift Lead or owner Work efficiently and calmly during busy periods Qualifications Previous line-cook, prep-cook, or restaurant-kitchen experience preferred Willingness to train the right candidate Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately Ability to work as part of a team Good communication and time-management skills Ability to work in a hot, fast-paced environment Food-handler certification or willingness to obtain one, if required Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to [25/40/50] pounds Availability to work [evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed]
