Personnel Placements is seeking a Cook for a residential facility in Gibson County, TN.

Gibson County, TN Job Summary The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals for residents while following individual dietary requirements and special meal needs. This position will also help maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen and dining environment and assist residents, visitors, and facility staff as needed. Job Duties
  • Prepare meals according to residents' dietary needs, preferences, and any required modifications.
  • Prepare special meals as needed, including diabetic meals and meals requiring modified preparation or portioning.
  • Serve meals efficiently while ensuring food is fresh and served at the proper temperature.
  • Monitor residents during mealtimes and assist with needs such as refilling drinks or opening packages.
  • Clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen areas after meals.
  • Sweep and mop the kitchen and pantry at the end of each shift.
  • Assist with menu planning and preparing weekly food and supply lists.
  • Receive deliveries, check incoming food and supplies, and properly store inventory.
  • Rotate food stock and ensure older items are used first.
  • Maintain organized coolers and freezers and remove expired or spoiled food when necessary.
  • Complete required temperature checks for coolers and freezers.
  • Maintain working thermometers in the cooler and freezers.
  • Empty kitchen trash daily.
  • Report kitchen equipment or maintenance concerns promptly, including issues with appliances, freezers, coolers, ovens, stoves, dishwashers, and other kitchen equipment.
  • Assist residents in other areas when needed.
  • Greet visitors and provide assistance as appropriate.
  • Answer the facility phone and provide basic information or direct calls as needed.
  • Occasionally assist with facility tours for prospective residents and their families.
  • Report incidents, safety concerns, suspicious activity, or potential hazards to the appropriate facility administrator.
  • Help maintain a clean and safe environment throughout the facility.
  • Treat residents, families, visitors, and coworkers with dignity and respect.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
  • Previous cooking or food service experience preferred.
  • Experience working in a healthcare, residential, assisted living, or similar environment is a plus.
  • Must be dependable and able to work independently.
  • Must be comfortable working with residents and providing friendly, respectful service.
  • Ability to follow dietary instructions and food safety procedures.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be willing to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary work environment.
