Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Bluebonnet Detention Facility in Anson, TX.We provide a safe and secure working environment for our staffwhile helping non-citizens gain valuable skills and treatment necessary for success upon release. What you'll do:
You'll be responsible for assisting with the preparation of all facility meals.
Essential functions:
Prepare and cook quantity of food required according to menu and production sheet.
Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly workable condition. Ensure work area is safe, clean and sanitary at all times.
Ensure the count and control of knives and other controlled kitchen tools.
Provide an accurate count of all controlled items at the beginning and end of each shift.
Prepare foods as directed for special facility functions and special diets when prescribed by staff doctor.
Assist in cleaning kitchen work areas following each meal.
Coordinate the work of detainees assigned to assist in the cafeteria, which includes long periods of sitting and standing.
Education and experience requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Food service training, one (1) year of food service or related experience and prior supervisory experience are preferred.
Must be able to pass food handler certification within 30 days of hire.
Valid drivers license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
Must have United States Citizenship and successfully complete required pre-service training.
