Santé's expert clinical and medical staff specialize in substance use disorders, mental health, dual diagnosis and poly-addiction, problematic sexual behavior, co-occurring disordered eating, compulsive behavior…and ultimately the trauma so often underneath it all. And we've been making "miracles happen on the hill" for 30 years. This individual supports the head chef by assisting with general meal preparation duties and sanitation duties as required.
Responsibilities:
Cleans kitchen, kitchen utensils and equipment. Serves food as required, adhering to designated meal plans. Stock dry goods, produce, meat, and other kitchen supplies as needed. Rotates perishable items to avoid spoilage. Stores and labels leftover food items properly. Notifies supervisor of food and supplies needed. Checks inventory food and supplies as necessary. Assists in the preparation of salad items, entrees, side dishes, and desserts as needed. Assists in the preparation of food for special diets from recipes formulated by qualified personnel. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Culinary training is an added benefit, but not required. Experience working in a food preparation environment. Current Food Handlers or SafeServ Certificate preferred or must be obtained within 30 days of employment. Weekends Required Read and understand instructions and recipes spoken and/or written in English. Work with adults with mental health and/or various addiction issues Ability to judge final food product for quantity (yield) and quality (color, taste, texture, etc.) Ability to determine the freshness and quality of raw and cooked food products by sight and taste Demonstrate general knowledge of principles of food sanitation, health hazards, and the necessary precautionary measures Weigh, measure, and serve food items Ability to perform basic mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentage conversion to decimals and count) as related to calculating or converting units of measure for determining proper amounts of food ingredients for mass food production Manage time effectively to meet deadlines and objectives Maintain confidential information In addition to a competitive salary, full time employees also receive: 4 weeks of paid paid time off 1 week per year of accrued extended sick bank 9 paid holidays 401K with company match Health/Dental/Vision benefits Supplemental insurance options Free Lunch (On Campus)
