Job Description

Kitchen Prep - Brazilian Steakhouse Job Summary Join the team at Las Espadas Brazilian Steakhouse, where great food starts with great preparation. We are looking for hardworking, organized, fast-paced, and team-oriented Kitchen Prep Team Members to help prepare the fresh ingredients that make our Brazilian steakhouse experience exceptional. As a Kitchen Prep Team Member, you will support our kitchen by preparing vegetables, salads, hot dishes, sauces, side dishes, proteins, and other ingredients according to Las Espadas recipes and standards. You will work closely with Cooks, Churrasco Team Members, Salad Bar Team Members, Dishwashers, and Managers to ensure the restaurant is fully prepared for every service. This is a hands-on position in a busy, high-volume kitchen. Cleanliness, speed, consistency, food safety, and teamwork are essential. Responsibilities Prepare ingredients for daily restaurant operations according to recipes, prep lists, and production levels. Wash, peel, cut, slice, dice, chop, and portion vegetables, fruits, herbs, and other ingredients. Prepare ingredients for our salad bar, hot buffet, kitchen, appetizers, and churrasco operation. Assist with preparation of Brazilian-style side dishes, sauces, salads, soups, rice, beans, vegetables, and other menu items. Portion and organize ingredients for cooks and other kitchen stations. Follow recipes and portion standards to maintain consistent quality, flavor, and food cost. Label, date, rotate, and properly store all prepared food using FIFO procedures. Monitor product freshness and immediately communicate quality concerns to Kitchen Leadership. Maintain proper food temperatures and follow all food-safety procedures. Keep prep tables, cutting boards, knives, equipment, refrigerators, shelves, and work areas clean and sanitized. Help receive, organize, and properly store food deliveries when needed. Maintain organized walk-in coolers, freezers, dry storage, and prep areas. Minimize food waste by following proper preparation, portioning, and storage procedures. Communicate with Cooks and Managers when products are running low or additional preparation is needed. Complete assigned prep lists accurately and on time before service. Assist other kitchen stations during high-volume periods. Help maintain a clean kitchen throughout the shift, including sweeping, cleaning equipment, and removing trash when necessary. Follow all company recipes, sanitation, safety, appearance, and operational standards. Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by Management. Hardworking and willing to stay productive throughout the shift. Able to work quickly while maintaining quality and accuracy. Strong attention to cleanliness and food safety. Able to follow recipes, instructions, prep lists, and portion standards. Organized and able to prioritize multiple preparation tasks. Dependable, punctual, and responsible. Positive attitude and willingness to help teammates. Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Ability to stand and work for extended periods. Ability to safely lift, carry, push, or move kitchen products and supplies as required. Comfortable working around heat, cold storage, knives, kitchen equipment, and wet surfaces. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. English/Spanish bilingual skills are a plus. Why Join Las Espadas?
