Prepare meals according to menus, recipes, and resident preferences. Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices are followed. Maintain kitchen cleanliness and equipment in good working order. Assist with menu planning and special event meals as requested. Monitor food inventory and notify the Culinary Manager of shortages. Support compliance with dietary and regulatory requirements. Other duties as assigned, including support for other departments. Depending on experience and performance standing - may be assigned job lead duties and act as support for peers as needed and may rotate duties with other leads
QUALIFICATIONS
: Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or senior living setting preferred. Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality. Must meet all regulatory health, training, and background requirements. Essential functions Set up and break down all dining areas including the bistro and private dining area in the appropriate time manner. All set up done 30 minutes before opening time. All Silverware, glasses and plates are to be clean, chip free, maintained, and free of spots. Be in uniform at all times during your shift. Have a working knowledge of all allergies, food ingredients and preparation methods for menu items. Always maintain a working presence on the dining room floor. Tend to all Resident's needs in a timely and professional manner. Be proactive at problem solving. Wash and put away all dishes and utensils appropriately and safely Ensure dish area is kept clean and trash disposed at the end of every shift Adhere to schedule, if changes need to be made inform a manger at least a week in advance, actively seek a replacement for a shift that you will not be able to cover. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation always. Complete any other tasks assigned to you by your manager. Prepares alternate meals as required. Ensure suitable meals are served to the appropriate Residents Ensures all food and chemicals are dated and labeled according to health and safety standards Customer service Responsible for ensuring that all employees are providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers. Perform job duties for residents and with team members in a courteous and professional manner. Take initiative to ensure resident safety and satisfaction is a priority. Meet and greet visitors in a friendly, helpful manner (Visitors include anyone who visits the community; specifically, current residents' families and friends, prospective residents and their families, referral sources, vendors, and regulators). Residents' rights Ensure compliance and understanding of all regulations regarding residents' rights. Other Adheres to prescribed sanitation practices and procedures. Performs similar or related duties as required or directed. Follow company policies and procedures. The job description provides a framework for the job; other duties may be assigned as necessary. Working conditions (travel, hours, environment) Scheduled hours; possible overtime. May work in other positions temporarily when necessary. Is subject to callback during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.). Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., through the workday, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, and other air contaminants. May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
Physical/sensory requirement Medium work:
ability to exert 10-35 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents and staff. Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset and, at times, hostile people within the community.
