ONBOARDING TIME

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare high-quality meals for hospital patients, staff, and visitors.
• Organize daily food preparation and production to ensure timely meal service.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, regulatory requirements, and therapeutic diet guidelines.
• Review menus and prepare meals according to standardized recipes and dietary restrictions.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.
• Monitor food quality, temperatures, and proper storage procedures.
• Collaborate with the Director of Dietary, Nutrition Services Manager, dietitians, and support staff.
• Promote cost-effective use of food and kitchen resources.
• Assist with orienting and training new staff as needed.
• Participate in departmental meetings, education, and quality improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
• Work efficiently and accurately with minimal supervision.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 1 year of cook experience in a healthcare environment (hospital, rehabilitation, skilled nursing facility, or similar healthcare setting).
• Experience preparing meals in accordance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards.
• Experience following standardized recipes and therapeutic diets.
• Experience working in a fast-paced institutional or healthcare kitchen
