) Do you enjoy cooking and being in the magical presence of children? If so, Child's Time Early Learning Center has a position just for you. We are looking to hire a full-time lead cook for our facility. Position Overview As our Cook/Breaker, you'll be responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks for children, following established menus that meet

USDA, DCYF

licensing, and OSPI food program guidelines. You'll also assist in classrooms during staff breaks or as needed, helping maintain smooth daily operations.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to approved menus. Follow all OSPI food program and health department regulations. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas. Manage food and supply inventory; place orders and minimize waste. Ensure proper food storage and prevent cross-contamination. Distribute meals to classrooms on schedule and assist teachers as needed. Support children with dietary needs and allergies appropriately. Occasionally assist in classrooms as a floater or during teacher breaks. Participate in required trainings and maintain up-to-date certifications. Work collaboratively with the site director and staff to support a positive center environment. Required Skills/Qualifications Minimum of 1 year experience working in a childcare environment and/or kitchen setting. Be physically able to lift up to 40 pounds is strongly desired and may be required to work in some classrooms or in the kitchen. Familiarity with accurate conditions and food storage, understand the needs of children with food allergies, and to implement methods of food cross-contamination avoidance. Ability to follow nutritious menus and prepare sufficient quantity of foods for center population Basic math skills required for measuring and calculating serving portions Possess a Food Handler's Card or willingness to obtain Strong willingness to learn new techniques and adhere to all current Washington State and local regulations regarding food service. Knowledge of OSPI food program regulations. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a positive attitude. • ECE Stackable certificates (preferred) To succeed in this position, you will need: Cleared Portable Background Check (DCYF) TB Test Food Handlers Permit CPR Infant, Adult and Child First Aid and HIV Blood Borne Pathogens 30 hours STARS training (within 90 days of hire)

Pay:

$17.15 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 40.0 per week
