: Stan Jones Retirement Home
JOB SUMMARY
The cook will oversee the procurement, preparation, and storage of food service at the Stan Jones Retirement Home (SJRH). This position will assist with planning menus, ordering food, the operation of kitchen, and maintaining equipment. Plan and implement a nutritious and culturally relevant four (4) week menu cycle, while keeping allergies and health conditions in mind. Documenting the component substitutions for the monthly menus. Keep accurate records of all documentation pertaining to the kitchen and staff and standardize recipes. Ensure the kitchen area follows all local and federal health and safety regulations. Making sure food is prepared same day to provide fresh meals for Residents. Abide by and enforce the SJRH standard operation procedures, to guarantee that we are providing nutritious foods that do not disrupt the Resident's individual physical/mental development, e.g., sugar, salt, preservatives, etc. Identify appropriate serving size for each meal served to Residents, guests and staff. Oversee, train and monitor performance of the team meal preparation and cooking, ensuring meals are prepared and meet SJRH standards.
COMPENSATION
$23.25 MINIMUM
REQUIRED EDUCATION
High School Diploma of GED equivalent.
MINIMUM RELATED EXPERIENCE
Four (4) years of experience with food preparation and cooking. Two (2) years of experience with financial management, creating and maintaining budgets. Experience cooking for working seniors and/or elders preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES WA
State Driver's License. ( Personal Auto Insurance) Must adhere to the Motor Vehicle Regulations. (Abstract Required) BLS Certificate. CPR/First Aid Certificate. Negative TB Skin Test or chest x-ray. Food Handlers Permit. OSHA training upon hire. HIPAA certification upon hire. Must abide by departments vaccination policy and will need to provide up-to-date immunization records as part of the credentialing process. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
