Job Description

Sun Valley Assisted Living is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cook to join our team. As a cook in a assisted living facility, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals to our residents according to the menu, monitoring methods of food handling, preparation, meal service, and equipment cleaning.
Responsibilities include:
Preparing and serving meals according to the menu, monitoring methods of food handling, preparation, meal service, and equipment cleaning. Safely and effectively provide nutritionally appropriate food to residents for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing their overall health. Ensures the provision of quality food service and nutrition care in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations. Prepares meal items according to planned menus and standardized recipes following the dietician needs of residents. Reviews menus, resident census information to determine type and quantity of food to be prepared. Prepares meals according to safe food handling guidelines per company policy and procedures and state and federal codes and regulations. Assists with food ordering, storage, and preparation. Prepares meals in a timely manner to preserve food quality and on time. Maintains standards for food preparation and quality of food service; uses nutrion substitutes when required; follows standardized recipes.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in the food industry, dietary department, or food service is preferred
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and proper meal preparation techniques
  • Ability to use knives and other culinary tools safely
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor when interacting with residents
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively
Pay:
$18.00
  • $19.
00 per hour
