Duties Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to established recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality. Assist with food production tasks such as braising, poaching, grilling, and other cooking techniques to support high-volume meal service. Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food prep tools. Maintain cleanliness by following strict food safety sanitizing procedures and proper food handling practices to uphold health standards. Support menu planning efforts by preparing ingredients and suggesting improvements based on culinary best practices. Help with dishwashing, utensil cleaning, and kitchen organization to ensure a smooth workflow during busy hours. Collaborate with team members to meet dietary requirements and accommodate special requests, ensuring customer satisfaction. Skills Proven experience in food preparation, including knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods such as braising, grilling, poaching, and meal assembly. Strong background in food safety management, sanitizing procedures, and proper food handling protocols. Experience working in high-volume production environments within restaurants or catering settings. Knowledge of dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus for accommodating special dietary needs. Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely while adhering to recipe adherence and food production standards. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in recipe execution and meal presentation. Previous experience in fine dining or restaurant environments is highly desirable; serving or catering experience is advantageous.
