Job Summary Pewaukee Schools is seeking a responsible individual for the duties of assistant cook. Located in Waukesha County, outside Milwaukee, the Pewaukee School District is a Wisconsin public school district that offers a quality education to students in the Village and City of Pewaukee from Kindergarten through 12th grade (4K-12). Duties Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to established recipes and dietary guidelines. Ensure proper food handling and safety practices are followed at all times. Support catering events by preparing and serving food in a timely manner. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas. Utilize knife skills effectively for meal preparation, ensuring all ingredients are prepared to specification. Provide excellent customer service while serving meals, addressing any dietary concerns or requests. Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies as needed. Qualifications Previous experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is preferred. Strong background in food service preferred Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices. Culinary experience with a focus on meal preparation and cooking techniques. Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, particularly in food handling.
