Job Description

Overview We are seeking a passionate and skilled Dietary Cook to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, flavorful meals that meet dietary guidelines and enhance the well-being of our residents. Your expertise in food preparation, menu planning, and food safety will contribute to creating a warm, welcoming environment where health and taste go hand in hand. Duties Prepare and cook a variety of meals following established recipes, dietary restrictions, and menu plans with precision and consistency Plan menus that balance nutritional value with appealing presentation, incorporating diverse culinary techniques such as braising, poaching, grilling, and food production methods Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, knives, and other culinary tools Ensure all food handling and preparation adhere to strict food safety sanitizing procedures and food safety management standards Assist in meal service by portioning, plating, and presenting dishes attractively for residents or customers Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area by following proper food safety sanitizing procedures and organizing workstations for high-volume production Collaborate with dietary aides and other kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of meals that meet quality standards and dietary specifications Qualifications Proven experience as a Dietary Cook or in a similar food service role within the food industry or healthcare setting Strong knowledge of menu planning, recipe adherence, and various cooking techniques including braising, grilling, poaching, and food preparation methods Demonstrated skills in operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Experience with food safety protocols, sanitizing procedures, and food handling regulations Background in fine dining or restaurant experience is a plus, showcasing high-volume production skills and culinary expertise Excellent knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation for diverse dietary needs Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards Join us to bring your culinary passion to life while supporting the health and happiness of those we serve!
Pay:
$18.00 - $23.00 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 - 40.0 per week
