Automotive Detailing AssistantJob Overview We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Automotive Detailing Assistant to join our growing automotive detailing business. As our client base continues to expand, we are looking for a motivated individual who takes pride in their work, demonstrates professionalism, and is committed to providing high-quality vehicle cleaning and detailing services. The Automotive Detailing Assistant will work alongside the business owner to perform detailing services on a variety of vehicles, including semi-trucks, sedans, pickup trucks, service trucks, and other commercial and personal vehicles. This role involves assisting with interior and exterior detailing, preparing vehicles for service, maintaining equipment and supplies, and ensuring that every vehicle receives the attention and care necessary to meet our quality standards. The ideal candidate is reliable, eager to learn, physically capable of performing hands-on work, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. Because our services may require travel to customer locations, the candidate must also be a responsible driver who can safely operate a company vehicle when needed. Key Responsibilities Vehicle Cleaning and Detailing Perform thorough cleaning and detailing services on a variety of vehicles, including semi-trucks, sedans, pickup trucks, service trucks, and other commercial and personal vehicles. Assist with exterior hand washing, rinsing, drying, wheel and tire cleaning, and the application of appropriate detailing products. Perform interior cleaning tasks, including vacuuming carpets and upholstery, cleaning floor mats, wiping dashboards and interior surfaces, and cleaning windows. Assist with polishing, waxing, and other surface treatments as directed and appropriate for each vehicle. Identify areas that require additional attention and ensure detailing tasks are completed thoroughly and consistently. Equipment and Workplace Maintenance Properly use and maintain detailing tools, equipment, cleaning products, and supplies. Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe throughout the workday. Prepare equipment and materials before appointments and ensure supplies are properly stored after each job. Follow all applicable safety procedures when handling cleaning chemicals and operating detailing equipment. Quality Control and Customer Service Ensure completed work meets the company's quality standards and customer expectations. Handle customer vehicles and personal property with care, respect, and professionalism. Follow instructions provided by the business owner and communicate any concerns, vehicle issues, or additional cleaning needs. Maintain a professional and courteous attitude when interacting with customers. Assist with completing scheduled appointments efficiently without compromising the quality of the work. Teamwork and Daily Operations Work collaboratively with the business owner to complete detailing assignments and manage daily workloads. Demonstrate initiative by identifying tasks that need attention and assisting where needed. Help prepare vehicles for delivery or return to customers in a clean and presentable condition. Assist with additional detailing-related duties as needed to support business operations and accommodate growing customer demand. Driving Responsibilities and Company Vehicle The Automotive Detailing Assistant must be a reliable and responsible driver who can safely operate a company vehicle for business-related purposes as needed. Driving responsibilities may include traveling to customer locations, transporting detailing equipment and supplies, and assisting with daily service appointments.

Additional expectations include:

Maintaining a valid driver's license and meeting applicable company vehicle insurance requirements. Following all traffic laws and practicing safe, responsible driving habits at all times. Arriving punctually at scheduled appointments and assigned work locations. Handling the company vehicle responsibly and keeping it clean and presentable. Communicating promptly regarding vehicle concerns, scheduling issues, or unexpected delays. Demonstrating accountability and professionalism while representing the company on the road and at customer locations. A safe driving record is preferred. The ability to drive a company vehicle reliably and responsibly is an important requirement of this position. Qualifications and Preferred Skills A strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and punctuality. Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work. A willingness to learn automotive detailing techniques and follow established procedures. The ability to work independently when assigned tasks and cooperate effectively with others. A valid driver's license and the ability to meet company driving requirements. The ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, bending, reaching, and working with vehicles of different sizes. The ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions when required. Previous experience in automotive detailing, vehicle washing, or a related field is preferred but not required. Training may be provided to candidates who demonstrate a strong willingness to learn.
