Under the general direction of the Food & Beverage Manager, the primary functions of this position are to clean kitchen work areas, equipment, dishes, and remove trash.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(and other duties as assigned) Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, or utensils in clean and orderly condition. Clean or prepare various foods for cooking or serving. Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans, using dishwashers or by hand. Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in storage areas. Sweep and mop floors. Clean garbage cans with water or steam. Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas. Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or salad bars. Transfer supplies or equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks. Set up banquet tables. EDUCATION and/or

EXPERIENCE

Strong knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to the Inupiat culture. High school or equivalent certification. Previous background should include demonstrated ability to deal with the general public. Must be able to work independently and must be willing to work shifts that vary. The ability to speak and understand the Inupiaq language is important and preferred.
