Duties Thoroughly wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and food preparation equipment using appropriate cleaning techniques and tools Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as slicing ingredients using proper knife skills and handling food safely Support the kitchen team by organizing clean items for use in meal production and ensuring all items are stored correctly following safety standards Handle manual tasks including heavy lifting of large pots, trays, or boxes of supplies while maintaining proper ergonomic practices Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area by regularly sanitizing surfaces and disposing of waste according to safety regulations Follow food safety management protocols to prevent cross-contamination and ensure compliance with health standards Assist with basic food handling duties during busy service times, supporting meal preparation and serving when needed Experience Previous experience in a food service environment or restaurant setting is preferred but not required; training will be provided Familiarity with food industry safety standards and basic kitchen operations is advantageous Demonstrated ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and prolonged standing Basic math skills for measuring cleaning chemicals or portioning ingredients during support tasks Knowledge of food safety management practices and proper use of food preparation equipment is beneficial Experience with catering or culinary activities that involve slicing techniques or sensory evaluation can be an asset but not a requirement Strong customer service orientation with the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment This role is perfect for motivated individuals eager to build their culinary foundation while ensuring our kitchen runs smoothly.
