Duties Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to thoroughly clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools in accordance with food safety sanitizing procedures. Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup. Bypass dirty dishes from dining areas or kitchen stations to maintain smooth workflow. Follow strict sanitation protocols to ensure all items meet health and safety standards. Support bussing duties by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing station. Handle manual cleaning tasks such as scrubbing pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment that require special attention. Maintain a clean and organized work area by regularly sanitizing surfaces and storage spaces in compliance with kitchen health and safety standards. Assist with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, sinks, and other related appliances. Participate in training on food safety management practices to ensure proper food handling and sanitation procedures are followed. Support the team during busy service times by managing heavy lifting tasks such as moving large pots or stacked dish racks. Skills Strong understanding of food safety principles and sanitizing procedures within a commercial kitchen setting. Experience with food handling, food service operations, or restaurant environments is highly desirable. Knowledge of kitchen health and safety standards to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment. Ability to operate commercial dishwashing machines and other kitchen equipment efficiently. Excellent manual handling skills for heavy lifting and moving bulky items safely. Basic knife skills for assisting with food prep when necessary. Familiarity with sanitation practices including proper cleaning techniques for dishes, utensils, and kitchen surfaces. Experience working in banquet or large-scale culinary settings is a plus. Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively within a fast-paced environment.
