Overview Join our dynamic culinary team as a Prep and Dishwasher, where your energy and attention to detail will help create a seamless kitchen operation. This vital role ensures that food preparation, dishwashing, and kitchen cleanliness are maintained to the highest standards. By supporting our culinary staff, you'll contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences while gaining valuable food industry experience in a fast-paced environment. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop foundational culinary skills and understand the essentials of food safety and kitchen operations. Duties Efficiently wash, sanitize, and organize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to uphold cleanliness standards. Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing using proper knife skills, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and menu requirements. Support the culinary team in meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service. Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, floors, and storage areas through regular cleaning routines. Operate kitchen equipment safely including dishwashers, slicers, mixers, and other small appliances following safety standards in production. Follow food handling procedures diligently to ensure food safety management and prevent contamination. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal prep, ingredient availability, and special dietary needs. Requirements Prior experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Experience in food service or restaurant environments demonstrating familiarity with food industry standards. Knowledge of safety standards in production, food handling practices, and proper use of kitchen equipment. Strong knife skills with slicing technique proficiency for ingredient preparation. Ability to follow recipes accurately while adhering to meal preparation guidelines. Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with kitchen staff. Capable of standing for extended periods and performing physically demanding tasks such as lifting heavy pots or boxes of supplies. Basic understanding of catering processes or serving duties is a plus but not mandatory.
