Responsibilities Operate commercial dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen tools efficiently and safely. Follow food safety sanitizing procedures to ensure all items meet health standards and prevent cross-contamination. Assist with food preparation tasks when needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup. Support bussing duties by clearing tables, removing trash, and ensuring dining areas remain tidy and welcoming. Handle manual lifting of heavy pots, trays, and boxes while adhering to proper lifting techniques to prevent injury. Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, and storage spaces, following sanitation protocols. Support kitchen staff with operating basic kitchen equipment and adhering to health and safety standards in the workspace. Qualifications Previous food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; a strong willingness to learn is essential. Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation procedures is highly desirable. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including lifting heavy items regularly. Familiarity with kitchen health and safety standards ensures a safe working environment for all team members. Basic knife skills or culinary experience can be an advantage but are not mandatory; training will be provided if needed.
